Carlton has over 40 years’ experience as a Goldsmith and Diamond Mounter. He works mainly with Toye Kenning & Spencer, one of  the country’s most prestigious Regalia & Jewellery companies who manufacture exclusive hand-made jewellery, medals and objet for the Armed Forces, Public Office Officials, large organisations and individuals.

 

Carlton also has his own jewellery business workshop where he specialises in sharing his wide area of expertise by teaching essential practical skills at all levels. From 1997 he also taught part-time classes and short courses at the esteemed School of Jewellery Birmingham City University, before recently moving to his preferred one-to-one mentoring style of teaching.

 

His wealth of knowledge and natural teaching ability is especially helpful to new makers who need to boost their making confidence, get introductions to trade suppliers and obtain useful tips for their new small jewellery businesses.
