Katherine is a highly experienced, successful jeweller and silversmith who has worked in the Jewellery Industry as a Designer and Maker for over 25 years'.

Although Katherine originally worked in 18ct gold and silver her style of jewellery had a particular resonance to Keum Boo, which is the traditional Korean Art of fusing gold foil onto silver. She has spent several years developing and perfecting this particular technique, learning Keum Boo techniques from award winning Korean jeweller Kye-Yeon Son many years ago, and Katherine's  exquisite exceptionally finished work demonstrates the technique perfectly.

Katherine is a graduate of the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal College of Art in London, her work is exhibited nationally and she is a member of Centrepiece and well known Birmingham Jewellery Quarter collective of Jewellers.

Katherine is also a very experienced jewellery tutor, who has taught at Jewellery techniques at all levels for many years, including at the prestigious Birmingham City University School of Jewellery in Birmingham amongst others. 

Her expertise lies in helping those new to the jewellery industry develop their skills through guided, project-led 1:1 tuition from her studio in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, and she is the lead tutor for our Practical Jewellery Diploma.
