About

Louise is a practising contemporary silversmith and jeweller, whose is  a BA (Hons) graduate of Sheffield Hallam University. Following her graduation in 2005, Louise she undertook a year of intensive training at the prestigious Bishopsland Workshops under the tutorship of Sisdel Dorph-Jensen, Lin Cheung and John Bartholomew. 

 

Louise's work has been exhibited widely, including at the Victoria and Albert Museum  (V&A) and Goldsmiths' Hall in London and she is also an active member of Contemporary British Silversmiths, the leading association for contemporary silver in the United Kingdom, which was set up to inspire creativity and promote highly crafted design based silverware to new audiences nationally and internationally.

 

Louise specialises in the Silversmithing technique of fold forming, and micro fold forming. She began working with this technique independently in 2005, and developed a range of jewellery and silverware. This development was further enhanced by a summer school at Birmingham School of Jewellery with esteemed USA Silversmith Cynthia Eid in 2012, since then she has continued developing the use of this technique.

 

An experienced tutor, Louise enjoys sharing her expertise particularly in her own purpose built workshop near Burton upon Trent in the South Derbyshire.

 

Louise is the author of the informative and useful ‘Making Silver Jewellery’ book published by Crowood Press in 2014.
