These specially designed practical mentoring sessions are live one-to-one interactions with the tutor as you sit at your Jewellery bench or in your studio.
Course Description
Live Practical Jewellery Skills Mentoring
During your tuition session you will be able to show the tutor jewellery samples or designs and obtain live practical technique demonstrations to help your work progress or conclude.
You will be able to consult the tutor about a live project/commission, existing technique/technical issue or discuss design dilemma’s and you will be able to undertake a selection of practical jewellery skills instruction with tutor guidance, provided live on screen via your laptop.

This course is designed specifically to support the making practise of Jewellery Graduates and those who are already making Jewellery using precious metals.

Before the agreed course date the tutor will contact you to discuss specific areas that you might like to cover in your online session to ensure you obtain the specific help you need and to aid your bench or design ready preparation for the mentoring session.

After your mentoring session the tutor will provide notes via email to summarise the tuition provided.

Session Duration
Online practical mentoring sessions are designed to be provided in the following formats:

STANDARD 4: A session of four hours delivered as 2x2 two hour sessions, to allow for interim practice.
​

STAND-ALONE 2: 1x 2 hour mini mentoring sessions
​​

SERIES: Flexible, you may also request a set of tailored amount two hour sessions as per the complexity of the assistance you may require.

Practical Jewellery Mentoring Sessions | Student Health & Safety
Your safety of is the utmost importance to us therefore, during online Jewellery practical distance learning students are advised:

You must follow the health and safety measures you always apply to your own jewellery workshop/studio environment.

You are responsible for bringing any relevant health and safety concerns to the immediate attention of the tutor before undertaking any particular tutor instruction.

You should be safety aware at all times.

Your course session may be temporarily closed by the tutor if they determine there is an unresolvable bench technique safety issue and you may be at risk if you continue with tuition at that particular time.

By booking your course you will be automatically be confirming that you accept you are entirely responsible for your own health & safety during a live practical jewellery mentoring session.

For Stonesetting tuition only : A magnifying glass/loupe may be helpful for holding up to the camera of your laptop to assist the tutors view.

What is the course date?
The course date is set by you, so that you can undertake a tuition session at your convenience.
All dates / times of course sessions are subject to tutor availability.

Start time are generally 10am GMT London Time but this can be adjusted slightly to suit.

About the Course Fee
A large portion of the course fee quoted is paid to the tutor, because, it’s their expertise that you pay for.
​
Where there is a selection of tutors, course, fee's may vary due to individual tutor requirements for teaching.
In addition a there is a small fee for arranging your course which is included in the total course fee.

Payment
Course fee payment is required in advanced by BACS Bank Transfer invoice or IBAN for international students.

Booking Information
Payment Terms
Payment is required in advance and payments are handled safely and securely by BACS Bank Transfer invoicing (IBAN for International students).

Instalments
Some courses are available to pay in instalments, whereby a non-refundable deposit is required to book your course date. Please ask for details if this is of interest to you.
Booking Terms

Once you have booked a cancellation fee of £75* will be deducted from your refund if you cancel your course up to and including 14 days prior to the start of the course once your payment has been received.

Cancellations received within 14 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, however you may re-arrange your course for one other date if you wish.

Should we need to cancel your course due to unforeseen circumstances we will refund your course fee in full if an alternative tutor or course date cannot be provided.

* Amount is variable depending on the duration and type of the course. When you enquire, out quote reply will provide the actual cancellation amount applicable. £75 applies to a standard one day in-studio course or an online course session.
