Area of expertise 

Ruth has a BA Hons degree in Jewellery Design, during her studies she achieved top prizes in the Royal Society of Arts Award and The Platinum Competition. More recently she was granted a British Society of Enamellers Bursary to study large scale enamelling in 2009 and achieved 'Commended' in the Goldsmiths Craftsmanship and Design Council Awards in 2011.

Her wide experience as a trade Enameller and a visiting tutor in Further & Higher Education,  has meant that she has accomplished a wide skill base. Keen to pass on her knowledge, she was commissioned  to write a book 'Enamelling' which was published in 2006, covering techniques and modern methods of exploration in Enamelling. Ruth now recognized internationally as being practiced in a variety of enamel methods.  

Her modern designs are encompassed in contemporary jewellery, fine silverware and unique artworks for public or private display, all of which are an observation of colour and light in everyday environments. Her art based, painterly approach to enamelling underpins the elegant sense of beauty in her work. Today the conception of one off pieces and limited edition ranges are her prime focus. 

Ruth’s collectable enamels are available through selected exhibitions and specialist galleries.
