An Introduction to Stone Setting Techniques 


Course content is guided by your training needs see below for an example of what you could learn.


If you are new to Stonesetting you may like to choose one stonesetting technique and spend a day mastering the basics along with learning the importance of tool preparation and maintenance.

If you have some basic stonesetting skills but would like to refine a particular technique or lean a new one you can simply tailor the course to suit your needs by bringing along sample silver jewellery /rings and stones that you would like to learn how to set more successfully.



Both very useful courses of practical tuition
 -Step-by step instruction from a tutor who is a highly experienced stonesetting professional.


Note: This course is not to be confused with Diamond Mounting - which is making the mounts that capture the stones.

A large portion of the course fee quoted is paid to the tutor. because, it’s their experience and expertise that you are paying for.


In addition a there is a small fee for arranging your course which is included in the total course fee.

About the Materials

Precious Metals or stones cannot be included in the course fee.


This is because Bespoke Courses are tailored to suit  individual makers needs.


Therefore you bring your own sample jewellery and stones for practise setting.


Or you can ask the tutor in advance to supply silver castings and/or stones at an additional cost and you pay the tutor directly for these.

Payment terms

Payment is required in advance and payments are handled safely and securely by PayPal or BACS invoicing.


Booking Terms

  • Once you have booked a cancellation fee of £85 will be deducted from your refund if you cancel your course up to and including 14 days prior to the start of the course once your payment has been received.


  • Cancellations received within 14 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, however you may re-arrange your course for another date if you wish. 


  • Should I need to cancel your course due to unforeseen circumstances I will refund your course fee in full.
