This course has been designed to provide practical demonstrations and guide your use if you are new to the machine; would like to learn how different precious metals, precious metal alloys and compatible non-precious metals such as titanium and non-ferrous metals etc can be spot welded together.
In this instance the tutor uses a PUK model 5 Spot welder for his practical demonstrations, you may have a new model but the tutor will cover all of the settings used for different types of metals and this is possible because all Laser Spot Welder’s regardless of model, that use Argon Gas, will have the same type of output controls even if they are in located in a different place.
NOTE: Argon Gas is used in Spot Welding to reduce the amount of soot created by the welding spark and the Gas is connected unobtrusively via a rubber tube and inlet multi pin in the back of the machine.
Depending on your practical application, at the end of the course the tutor may ask you to pay a small contribution towards the Argon Gas usage.
This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn how to join metals with confidence.
No previous knowledge of jewellery making is required.
Course Description
You will need to bring some sacrificial metal samples for practise during the course.
