3D Printing : An Introduction

This course uses Jewellery as an example to explain how 3D printing also known as Additive Manufacturing is used alongside other technologies to create product.
The tutor will explain the first of the processes of 3D printing which is creating a computer a STL design file, you will see the tutor demonstrate how a CAD design is created then you will get a feel for the process by trying out a variety of jewellery design tools yourself on the tutors laptop.
In addition you will obtain information about ;
- How a 3D printer works from an STL design file.

- What needs to happen to the model printed to complete the manufacturing process in order to make a metal item ready for sale.

The difference between using a commercial 3D Printing (CAD) Bureau vs what can be achieved with a home (Non-commercial ) 3D printer.

This 1-day course is designed to give you an overview of the you the basic principles of CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAM (Computer Aided Manufacture / 3D printing) to help you determine if this method of manufacture could be suitable for your style of Jewellery work.

A large portion of the course fee quoted is paid to the tutor. because, it’s their experience and expertise that you are paying for.
In addition a there is a small fee for arranging your course which is included in the total course fee.

About the Materials
You pay the tutor direct for any models you choose to be 3D printed. The cost cannot be determined before-hand because it depends on the work you choose to do during the course.

Payment is required in advance and payments are handled safely and securely by PayPal or BACS invoicing.

Once you have booked a cancellation fee of £65 will be deducted from your refund if you cancel your course up to and including 14 days prior to the start of the course once your payment has been received.

Cancellations received within 14 days of the course date are not eligible for a refund, however you may re-arrange your course for another date if you wish.

Should I need to cancel your course due to unforeseen circumstances I will refund your course fee in full.
